1 Samuel 8:4-22; Deuteronomy 17:14-20, 28:1 Proverbs 14:34; Ezekiel 22:30, 24-28
– The people wanted a king, rejecting that God was their King.
– People reject the God in you.
– The leader should not be out for himself.
– A leader must follow His Word, follow His law and read it daily.
– God is supposed to be our King!
– We can’t get so caught up in secondary things than in primary things!
– Any earthly leader of God’s people should reflect God’s heart.
– Actions reflect what is going on in the heart.
It’s time to stop twisting the Word of God to support something that is unsupportable!
– You can change the king, change the leader but it will not bring a change in the nation when the basic problem is disobedience to God.
We can only be great as a nation if we follow God!
– There needs to be some integrity from the leaders. God is talking about building a wall of righteousness, not stone or metal.
– The wall of righteousness guards the land!
– It’s not about a change of leadership, it’s about a change of discipleship.
