A Divine Reset
Series: General

Luke 5:1-7; 2 Chronicles 20:17

-2021 has to pay for 2020.

- We need to stop tying the will of God to our earthly calendar.

- The idea that God waits until January 1st to do a new thing is man-made.

- Divine reset is not tied to any specific time of the year.

- When circuits get overloaded, they trip, so you might have to reset it. #selahmoment

- Things that are broken need to be reset. Things that have no power have to be reset.

- A new year brings people looking for new things.

- Sometimes we don't need something new,  we simply need to throw our nets back in again.

- Reset is getting back in position, based on God's instructions.

- If it is not done with God's instruction it has no power.

- The difference in making a change is doing it with God's instruction.

- God has no obligation to back up something He has not promised.

- Power does not come from the calendar, it comes from God.

- The reset is available if we avail ourselves.

- Our belief without a Word is devoid of power.

- We have a specified place that God wants us to be.

- Our specified place is following God.

- Praise took a hit in 2020. Worship took a hit too. But they are a part of our specified place.

- Perseverance does not mean to keep doing things in our own strength.

- Nevertheless Master, key words to being reset.

- A divine reset is not a new year's message, not just for 2020, or just for 2021, this is an eternal one.

- Everything coming in our life was not caused by 2020.  We have been out of position for a long time.

    - What we do affects other people.

    - When we are in the midst of a thing, God appears and speaks right unto the heart of the matter.

    - Jesus is the only One who can save us from our sins.

    - We cannot play hide and seek with God. He knows where we are and He will always find us.

    - We cannot be so quick to condemn something or someone because we don't understand.

    Occupying the Silence
    Series: General

    Hebrews 1:1-2, 11:6; Ecclesiastes 5:3; Romans 4:16-18; Mark 11:24; Luke 5:17-18, 25-26

    - Speak only if you improve the silence.

    - Filling the silence often reveals a lack of confidence or over-confidence.

    - Self-assuredness is always measured.

    - If God has not said He will do it, He is under no obligation to perform it.

    - What God thinks is in no comparison to what you think.

    - God chose a strange way to save the world. It caused people to stumble in their belief.

    - When we don't believe, we are actually working against God.

    - Without any reason to do so, we hope. We believe. God honors that.

    - If we have a believing problem we will not get to receiving.

    - Believing and receiving are connected.

    - We cannot improve upon God ordained silence.

    - God operates on an entirely different level.

    - Believe God in the midst of the silence.

    - Fill the silence with faith. Fill the silence with belief. Fill the silence with your confession.

    - The power of God is present, but if you do not believe nothing will change.

    - The best way to occupy the silence is with wisdom.

    - We need to go and be what we need others to be.
    - The searching love is inside of us.
    - People need to know that they are worth the effort.

    Psalm 51:10; Genesis 4:4-7; Numbers 13:30, 14:6-8,24; Hebrews 4:16; Joshua 14:6-12

    - We all need 'Nathans" in our life.
    - David drifted away. Sudden movements that overtime create distance.
    - God accepted Abel's offering but did not accept Cain's. Cain did not have the right spirit.
    - The right spirit will create intimacy between us and God.
    - God is not fooled by what is going on on the surface.
    - The inside must be made clean in order for the outside to work.
    - Right now the battle is not for ownership, it's for possession. It's already yours!
    - If we don't have the right spirit we cannot approach God in the right way.
    - If our heart is right, it is a lasting strength and power.

    Of Things To Come
    Series: General

    John 16:12-13, 14:17,26, 17:17; Exodus 10; Genesis 18:1-8,17-21, 24:12-15; Isaiah 45:11, 46:10, 65:24

    - It's advantageous that the Spirit comes.  The Word of God is a separator.

    - We never just want to be separated from something (separated from the world), we want to be separated to something.  Separated to the peace, joy, triumph of God.

    - God will tell us of things to come so that we can intercede.

    - Once Abraham was told of things to come, he interceded.

    - God does not tell some of things to come because they don't know what to do. Or they will use it the wrong way.  God wants to share His plans with us.

    - We are in a better position than Abraham.  We have better promises.

    - If we don't press into the advantage, we are going to miss out on what God is doing or what is to come.

    - God reveals things unto us.

    - God says if we want to know God's will concerning our life, ask Him.

    - Only God declares the end from the beginning,

    - God will speak to you anywhere, anytime. But how much He speaks is up to us. We have to allow Him access.

    - While we are yet speaking, God answers.  Even if we don't speak, He answers.  God wants us to know things.

    Overcomer
    Series: General

    2 Chronicles 20:12-17; 1 Corinthians 2:11; John 5:1,4-5

    - In spite of where we are, in spite of our circumstances, we are overcomers!

    - God always has a word for us - in the midst of it.

    - God is not going to talk to you in the sunshine and not in the rain.

    - The first word God has for us, is be not afraid, be not dismayed in the face of your problem.

    - It doesn't matter if everybody does it, it matters if Jesus does it.

    - It's a natural response to get into our feelings, but it's not good.

    - We cannot know the things of God unless the spirit of God teaches us.

    - Our first response to problems should not be emotional.

    - God gave us our emotions, but He expects us to use them responsibly.

    - A person who does not have self-control is like a city without walls, vulnerable to attack.

    - God will not lead us out of our trouble through our emotions.

    - The second thing God expects us to do is show up.

    - We don't have to fight but we have to show up. If we don't show up, we will lose.

    - Set, stand and see.

    1. Get into position, the place you are supposed to be. And stay there. Don't move until God tells you.
    2. Stand still. Continue abounding in the work. We are active participants in our deliverance.
    3. See God's deliverance with you.

    - If we believe that Jesus is the Son of God than we are overcomers - we overcome the world.

    - Nothing can stand if they are at odds with each other.

    - Success relies on us working together.

    - Unity should resonate in the hearts of the people of God,

    - Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and to reconcile people unto God.

    - Jesus did not carve singling out a group of people. He came for all.

    - Jesus came to knock down walls, not build them.

    - We should walk in the same spirit as Jesus, unity.

    - We need to reject any signs of division.

    - God hates those who sow discord.  It is an abomination.

    - People who sow discord need to be avoided.

    - Satan wants to divide and conquer.

    - Division makes it easier to be conquered.

    - Division leads to failure.

    - In unity, there is a commanded blessing.

    - If we focus on the different notes, instead of realizing that we are singing the same song, we'll miss out on the beauty of the sound.

_ We should know how to harmonize.

    - There is community even in our differences and if we work together we can create harmony.

    - It does not make any sense for us to be fighting when in the midst of us, there are enemies. It will lead to a quick demise.

    - The people wanted a king, rejecting that God was their King.
    - People reject the God in you.
    - The leader should not be out for himself.
    - A leader must follow His Word, follow His law and read it daily.
    - God is supposed to be our King!
    - We can't get so caught up in secondary things than in primary things!
    - Any earthly leader of God's people should reflect God's heart.
    - Actions reflect what is going on in the heart.
    - It's time to stop twisting the Word of God to support something that is unsupportable!
    - You can change the king, change the leader but it will not bring a change in the nation when the basic problem is disobedience to God.
    - We can only be great as a nation if we follow God!
    - There needs to be some integrity from the leaders. God is talking about building a wall of righteousness, not stone or metal.
    - The wall of righteousness guards the land!
    - It's not about a change of leadership, it's about a change of discipleship.
